Emily Nelson

Emily is usually Em. To two very important little boys, she’s Auntie Em. A singer-songwriter from Vancouver, Canada, now making music in Nashville, Tennessee, Emily has been writing songs since she was a teenager. What began as a private way of putting words to things she couldn’t quite articulate became something she couldn’t stop doing, and eventually, something she decided to take seriously. 

Rooted in songwriting, family, and faith, Emily writes mostly about love and heartbreak, but her songs rarely stay there. Friendship, family, growing up, disappointment, humour, and the little aches of being human all find their way into her music. Her hope is simple, that when someone hears one of her songs, they feel a little more seen and think, that's it, that's what I've been trying to say.
